How I went from being a Law undergraduate to the winner, MBGN in 1988- Bianca Ojukwu
The name Bianca Odumegwu Ojuwku is a household name amongst the Igbo people, one can no longer point to the exact event that made her name a favorite on the lips of the Igbos, whether it was the fact that she made her people proud by winning the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageantry or that she got married to the Legendary Leader and Hero of Ndigbo, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu ( Ikemba Nnewi).
She has set herself to be a role model and a pacesetter for young women of Igbo origin all over the world. She never wavered even after the death of her husband in November 2011. This is visible in her recent venture into politics which ordinarily is dominated by men, unfazed by this challenge, she has continued her dogged struggle for the emancipation of women in Nigeria’s politics.
She recently shared her experiences on her Facebook page to mark her 30th anniversary as the winner of the 1988 edition of the country’s most prestigious beauty pageantry. The post read:
